Dyatlovo State Historical and Regional Studies Museum

The museum was founded in 1966. It was opened for visitors on 5 May 1968. The exposition, placed in eight halls, introduces the history of Dyatlovo District from ancient times up to now. It demonstrates materials about national liberation movement of the 1920s-30s, and also different ethnographical objects of the early 1900s. The works by famous Belarusian ceramicist Nikolai Nesterevsky are exposed in a separate hall. The museum contains 16,378 items. The most distinguished collections of the museum are the collections of printing editions, numismatics, ethnography and daily life, decorative ceramics. The books "Misal" by M. Pisano (Venice, 1758) and "Reading Book of Belarusian Literature" by I.S.Dvorchanin (Vilno, 1927), decorative sculptures by N.L.Nesterevsky are referred to the most valuable exhibits. There are both permanent and temporary exhibitions. The museum offers the visitors the subscription service, thematic and theatrical excursions, and the organization of the traditional Belarusian wedding ceremony.
